Looking around the world of sports:
If Felix Pie plays well filling in for Alfonso Soriano do the Cubs try to trade Jacque Jones? I suspect the combination of Soriano’s hamstring and Pie’s superior defense would send Soriano to left field and make right field (Jacque Jones, Matt Murton, and Cliff Floyd) really crowded.
Barry Bonds [...]

Golden State In The Playoffs?

April 18th, 2007 | Uncategorized | No comments

Heaven’s to Nate Thurmond, the Golden State Warriors are going to the NBA playoffs. This is like “Hoosiers” with millionaires, and I can’t wait.
I don’t have a favorite NBA team. Well, I do, but’s it’s the Knicks. But that is an affliction and not an affection. I’m sure if you look [...]

From this week in sports:
Lou Pinella told reporters the cold weather in Chicago worked to the Cubs disadvantage because of the number of power hitters on his team. Which explains their losses to the more cold weather oriented Houston Astros. Pinella is right about this, though. It’s a [...]

So Don Imus, a duck, and Brad Lidge walk into a bar. And the duck says, “I don’t care if you did lose your jobs, we’re not putting it on my bill.” (Insert rimshot here).
Well, Imus has been swept into the dust bin of history and nobody is surprised. [...]

Out on a Lidge

Phil Garner is out on a Lidge and it appears he’s about to jump. The Astro manager bailed on the Astro’s closer today, although some would say it is the other way around.
In 2004 Lidge saved 29 games and struck out an amazing 157 hitters in 95 innings. The 2005 regular season was [...]

Where to begin. You read that Frank Thomas "The Big Hurt", is in a commercial banned on Canadian Television. Interesting, but no big reaction.
You read on. The commercial involves a pillow fight with two young boys. Increasing concern, visions of Michael Jackson at Neverland. Say it ain’t so Frank.
Then you [...]
